MGF

Performance & Muscle Growth — IGF-1 Splice Variant Mechano Growth Factor MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) is a splice variant of IGF-1 (IGF-1Ec) produced locally in skeletal muscle in response to mechanical stress or damage. Research focuses on its role in satellite cell activation, the first stage of the muscle repair and growth process. Mechanism: IGF-1Ec splice variant — E-peptide-mediated satellite cell activation Primary Research: Muscle repair & satellite cell activation Related Compound: PEG-MGF (extended half-life analogue)

MGF

Mechanism of Action MGF operates through a two-phase signalling model distinct from standard IGF-1 activity. In the first 24 hours after mechanical stress, the MGF E-peptide activates quiescent satellite cells and promotes myoblast proliferation while inhibiting apoptosis — notably, research indicates the E-peptide can activate satellite cells independently of the mature IGF-1 molecule, pointing to extracellular matrix interactions or membrane-associated receptor signalling rather than classical IGF-1 receptor binding. Differentiation Phase Beyond 24 hours, mature IGF-1 from the IGF-1Ea isoform takes over, driving differentiation, fusion, and hypertrophy through PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway activation. Satellite Cell & Repair Research In animal studies, a single intramuscular injection of synthetic MGF E-peptide into damaged muscle accelerated regeneration by approximately 25% and increased muscle fibre cross-sectional area by 20%. Age-related decline in MGF responsiveness has also been proposed as a contributing factor in sarcopenia research. Research compound only — not licensed for human consumption or therapeutic use. Sold strictly for laboratory research purposes.
